The integration of ecotourism with activities that are resilient to climate change shocks and provide innovative ways of mitigating against impacts of climate change which ensures sustainable livelihoods. This is done through provision of information on the importance of ecotourism

Planting of bamboo is one of the innovative activities. Bamboo planted in degraded areas ensures soil and water conservation. Bamboo also improves the scenic beauty of the concerned areas hence promoting recreational ecotourism. In addition, bamboo absorbs more carbon-dioxide more than any tree hence mitigating the impacts of climate change. Bamboo can also be used to meet bio-energy needs and as an industrial raw material for fabrics.
